Saturn Award Nomination

“Hoodwinked” missed the Oscars, but my film is being recognized by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films.
Our film been nominated for “Best Horrific Fantasy Based On Science”… Or maybe it’s “Best Animated Film.” One of the two.
The awards show will take place May 2 in Universal City.
Read about ALL of the nominees here:

It’s not a major award nomination, but I personally think this is pretty cool. I’ve always heard about the Saturn Awards and will definitely “geek out” when I go to the awards show. Hopefully I will see some of the cast members from “Star Wars,” “Lost,” “Serenity”… geek senses… tingling!!

Do we have a shot? Maybe a long, long, long shot. But it will be cool to sit in the room with all of these film folks. Slowly but surely I am beginning to realize that I may finally, actually be “in the game.” I am moving in the currents of major filmmakers. The real question now is, if King Kong is there, does he need a really really big pen for autographs?

My First Blog (From Fisher Price Toys)

This is the first real blog I’ve ever entered. I’ve always been fascinated with blogs, but I’ve never been convinced that anyone really needs to know what my constant thoughts are about anything (besides me). But now that I’m making a name for myself with my movie “Hoodwinked,” I figure this will be a good forum to address issues regarding the film or document my next project.

Or publish recipes. Like this one:

“Toast”
Take 1 slice of bread (any type), and place in toaster.
Allow to simmer for 1 to 2 minutes, depending on crunchiness.
Remove carefully.
Add butter.
Enjoy.

I wish I could tell you what my next project is, but that’s top secret. Currently I am writing the sequel to “Hoodwinked” and a new CGI movie called “Escape From Planet Earth,” directed by Hoodwinked co-director Tony Leech. It will be funny and cool with aliens and stuff. But I am still trying to lock down that all-important second film for myself, the thing I will direct. It’s been a thrilling month with “Hoodwinked” at $50 million, but my next step is all I am obsessing about now.

I’m thinking of an all-mime musical. It’s never been done.
