I haven’t posted in a while because I’ve been in my top secret tower writing. That’s not a metaphor. I’m renting a sixty foot steel structure designed by a mad scientist in the 60’s. It has electrified razor wire around the perimeter, an underground entrance and a retina recognition system. Oh, and a Starbucks nearby. I’m embarrassed to admit it, but I usually just end up going over there for coffee and writing in the store. It’s really better that way, since I can admire the tower from the outside. The rooms inside are terribly decorated.

And besides, I’m not allowed to blog about the project I’m writing on anyway.

Simultaneously with that “mysterious” job, I was finishing a new draft of Tony Leech’s animated sci-fi film “Escape From Planet Earth.” It was a major overhaul, changing key parts of the plot and creating whole new scenes. I didn’t get a lot of sleep for a couple of weeks as both of these projects overlapped.

I continue to have very encouraging meetings about my fantasy film dream project. I’m meeting with some of the top producers in the business, and reactions have been very encouraging. Soon, VERY soon I must pick a producer so that we can take this out to studios. I’ve also been sent a script to consider directing. It is a project everyone in town knows about, and it would put me in business with some great people… that’s all I can say.

But until then, it’s back to the secret workshop high atop the electrified mad scientist tower.

Or the Starbucks.

I think I need a Carmel Macchiato right now anyway.
