Who watches th<\/span>e Watchmen? Apparently every living, breathing pop culture nerd in the world. Because that’s who descen<\/span><\/span>ded on the San Diego Convention Center last week, and\u00a0<\/span>The Watchmen<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0was the hottest topic. Oh sure, there were some other high-profile projects (<\/span>Fringe<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Clone Wars<\/span><\/a><\/span>) and even some new bombs dropped (<\/span>Tron 2<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0footage??). I even saw three <\/span>Dr. Horribles<\/span><\/a>\u00a0walking around. What follows is a handful of images that sum up my four days, with my profound observations underneath.<\/span><\/p>\n

Warner Brothers unveiled its new killing machines for Terminator: Salvation<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0I gotta say, I’m a little disappointed.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Yes, they do have child care at Comic Con. But it’s not the best.\u00a0At least this little girl had the sense to avoid being chained at the neck.<\/div>\n

Here’s Richard Taylor himself of Weta Workshop<\/a>\u00a0(Lord of the Rings, Narnia<\/span>).\u00a0Sad to say, he was drunk on moonshine and picking off bystanders with his atomic shotgun. Here he is aiming at a poor\u00a0kid in a Wookie costume, or\u00a0“taking out a minotaur” as he put it.<\/div>\n

No, Captain Planet is not wearing a costume. And yes ladies, he’s single.<\/div>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Chillin’ with the Predator.\u00a0We ran into each other as I was collecting action figures\u00a0and he was collecting human skulls. Peace out, Predator!<\/div>\n

And yes, there was a special Fraggle presence there, but I will devote my next blog to that.<\/div>\n

The only other thing I can tell you from the Con is that Joss Whedon<\/a>\u00a0is the pioneer of new media, Seth Green<\/a>\u00a0is the Bono of Geeks, and \u00a0Boba Fett<\/a>\u00a0— from what I can tell — has put on some serious weight.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
