AI"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Sometimes I feel a lot of despair, surrounded by more and more AI creation. Commercials. Animation for the Olympics. Every single person on social media who gets to see what they look like \u201cif an artist painted them,\u201d with no artist involved. I get a little sick to my stomach, to be honest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This kind of painless, effortless creation seems to be the new dominant way to make art. As Agent Smith might say, \u201cIt is inevitable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><span class=\"frame-outer  wp-image-1714\"><span><span><span><span><a href=\"https:\/\/coryedwards.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_1919.jpeg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/coryedwards.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_1919-edited.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1714\" width=\"410\" srcset=\"http:\/\/coryedwards.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_1919-edited.jpeg 1011w, http:\/\/coryedwards.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_1919-edited-300x225.jpeg 300w, http:\/\/coryedwards.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_1919-edited-768x577.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1011px) 100vw, 1011px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>But then\u2026\u2026..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several times recently, I have been aware of how truly MOVED I was by something in a film or musical performance or handmade art. And I asked myself why it moved me.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><span class=\"frame-outer  wp-image-1712\"><span><span><span><span><a href=\"https:\/\/coryedwards.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_1913.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"415\" height=\"311\" src=\"https:\/\/coryedwards.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_1913.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1712\" srcset=\"http:\/\/coryedwards.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_1913.jpeg 880w, http:\/\/coryedwards.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_1913-300x225.jpeg 300w, http:\/\/coryedwards.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_1913-768x576.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 880px) 100vw, 880px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I think it\u2019s because many times I have&nbsp;witnessed a messy, real moment that may originally have even been a \u201cmistake,\u201d but was wisely curated into the finished work. It\u2019s something the artist didn\u2019t plan but just \u201chappened.\u201c Something harvested from the process, which the artist \/ director \/ actor would say came seemingly \u201cout of nowhere.\u201d But it actually came from instinct, from the fruition of their experience, from the process of MAKING the thing. Real art and genuine performances are the end result of the process.
