Q:<\/span><\/span><\/b> What\u2019s up with that <\/span><\/span>Hoodwinked Too<\/span><\/span><\/i> lawsuit?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A:<\/span><\/span><\/b> You may have read about this in the trades. For those of you concerned that I am tangled up in the litigation and delayed release of <\/span><\/span>Hoodwinked Too<\/span><\/span><\/i>, don\u2019t be. It is just a power struggle between two parties that have nothing to do with me.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Q:<\/span><\/span><\/b> When is <\/span><\/span>Hoodwinked To<\/span><\/span><\/i>o going to come out?<\/span><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A:<\/span><\/span><\/b> Still don\u2019t know. It is in the hands of other people \u2013 people born to frustrate all <\/span><\/span>Hoodwinked<\/span><\/span><\/i> fans, I guess. At this point, I\u2019m just hoping it comes out.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Q:<\/span><\/span><\/b> What does the Miramax sale mean for your projects?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A:<\/span><\/span><\/b> If you haven’t heard yet, amazingly, the Weinstein brothers are buying back MIRAMAX, the legendary indie studio they founded and were forced to sell to Disney several years ago. What does this mean for my projects with them (like <\/span><\/span>Fraggle Rock<\/span><\/span><\/i>)? I don\u2019t know. Could be good. This could mean they are restructuring yet again financially and will have a sudden mandate to push projects into production. Or it could mean absolutely nothing for me. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Now for the big one\u2026<\/span><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Q:<\/span><\/span><\/b> What\u2019s going on with <\/span><\/span>Fraggle Rock<\/span><\/span><\/i>? Why are there no updates? What is the holdup? Is the script bad? Is the funding pulled? Is it a Harvey thing or a Henson thing? <\/span><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A:<\/span><\/span><\/b> I’m conflicted about how much to share… I want to be diplomatic. There are many crazy things going on behind the scenes to get the film funded and to get the Weinstein Company completely committed. I\u2019m very, very frustrated with the lack of progress, to put it lightly. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The script is GOOD, guys. I\u2019m excited about it and I stand by it. But we are still in a continual cycle of draft, notes, draft, notes, draft, notes\u2026. It makes me want to bite a hole through an armchair, frankly. I\u2019m at a loss. I\u2019m ready to go, but the big decision-makers are not.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve become very personally invested in this thing, and I desperately want to give you all the Fraggle movie you\u2019ve been dreaming of. I get goosebumps when I think about the movie that could be. I think it\u2019s still possible. However, I\u2019m sad to say that you may not hear any updates on <\/span><\/span>Fraggle Rock<\/span><\/span><\/i> for a long time. I wanted to at least set your expectations. We\u2019ve got to work some stuff out so we can do this right. I\u2019ll do my best to keep you updated — if and when the slow wheels of this machine start moving again.<\/span><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
