“Roger” wraps up
It’s the final day of my ten-day experiment, the first Twittersode Series known as “Roger Cosmonkey.” If you didn’t catch it all, you can always jump onto my twitter feed and back up to read all 21 chapters. Thank you to the many people who followed along and told others about it. It was fun to see the art on various different phones & personal devices, and I must say that the iPad is the BEST way to enjoy the visuals.
I’d really like to hear what any of you thought of this whole experiment. Feel free to post comments here. I’d love to get feedback on stuff like:
1. Was this a successful new venture in storytelling, or too simplistic for you?
2. Did you enjoy the art? Could you see details on your phone?
3. Memorable moments / lines from Roger’s story. What worked?
4. Any suggestions for the next time I do this.
5. Big question: should there have been MORE episodes per day, or was two-a-day enough?
This has been fun for me, and a learning process of what works as Twitter storytelling and what doesn’t…I’ve already got a sequel in mind, which I’ll announce in about a month. Keep watching my twitter for more. You can also hop onboard Roger’s FACEBOOK page, follow Roger himself onΒ TWITTER and read his BLOG for more of his outlook on life.

I loved the creativity of this whole effort! Thanks for creating the series!
Here’s the feedback you requested (by the numbers):
1. Yes and No – Fun to see the story unfold/Would have enjoyed seeing a more detailed story, but it is a “Twitter-sode,” after all. π Maybe more than 10 days? 4 weeks?
2. Art was great! I had forgotten you were an animator. Fun and stylized. Dug it. (I viewed it on a laptop, though, not a mobile device)
3. Memorable moments: “…or is it because you Fired Me Into Space?!” & “Quick! To the Lunarbego!” Nice. π
4. Suggestions for next time:
– Maybe a separate feed dedicated to just the episodes? I had a little trouble following the story w/ the other updates included in the main feed.
– One of the images vanished from the yfrog feed. http://yfrog.com/h0ooxpnj was in a parallel yfrogiverse or something. Maybe it could be uploaded to a different photo site?
-Part of the fun was seeing the story slowly over time, but at the end, it would be great to be able to see the whole series somewhere in one place to sen a link to friends (In case you missed it…)
5. Two a day seemed about right. Over more days would be even better.
Well, that was the longest comment, ever. Please don’t banish me. But please do keep doing these and things like it. Your talent, creativity and willingness to take risks is always inspiring!
Looking forward to the next installment….
